Q&A with Trunk
We caught up with Trunk this week following the release of their latest album in September.
RFB: In the press release for the album you write “This isn’t about perfection, it’s about power.” How did this mindset influence work in the studio for the record and also live performances?
Trunk: Not overthinking the writing or process. Just put out what we feel is good and if people like it, even better. Doing things for yourself and not worrying about others opinions.
RFB: What’s one thing you would want listeners to take away from this album?
Trunk: It’s real. We’re not trying to write cool or groundbreaking. Just what we like.
RFB: Who were/are your biggest influences?
Trunk: Punk rock and old school death metal. Band wise: Entombed, Acid Bath, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel
RFB: What are some of your favorite bands right now? Who should we be checking out?
Trunk: In Jest and Mutate Capacity from Philly rule. We got our southern homies Silico & Deluseur.
